  2. Do a search through this forum.

You will need two freeware programs: Subripper & Submux
Subripper will rip the subtitles from the VOB files and Submux will mux them into your mpeg. You can add up to 4 subtitle tracks with Submux. Use Subripper to save a ".sub" Philips-style file which indexes all of the BMP files. Check this site: www.doom9.net
There is a subtitle guide there which will tell you how to use Subripper.

With the SubmuxGUI you can add the subtitles as SVCD or CVD (Chinese Video Disc) style. You'll have to try both to see which your player can actually play. I have an Apex and it can only play the CVD style subs.

    Good luck.

you can also make the subs "permanent", so you cant disable them but they will work on all players. also checkout dvd2svcd.

and PLEASE POST DVD RIPPING QUESTIONS IN THE DVD RIPPING FORUM!!!!!

Permanent means: The subtitle as part of the picture, like on TV.

If you want to know how: please check the guides.

  7. To put two subtitles on a svcd you must use I-Author this is the address http://www.vcdhelp.com/svcdsubs. And you can download a sample with subs from vcdhelp, burn it on a CD-RW an test it on your standalone. But I wood like to get the guides on how to use Submux gul and Vob2sub gul because the I-Author subtitles do not work on my friends standalone dvd players. I have tried it on a pioneer, Samsung 611 and a Kendo, but it works great on my Kiss 1302 dvd player. I have put two subtitles and two audio tracks on 3 cd-r its like a dvd movie. P.S thank you for your help in advance.
