  1. Hello All,

I have read the post by Bladrick "How to add permanent subtitle to a video with virtualdubmod" at https://forum.videohelp.com/topic272736.html and I must say that it is straight and to the point.

My issue is this. I authored my own DVDs earlier using Ulead DVD Workshop 2 and added subtitles. What I would like to do is to take the subtitles from VOB stream and add them permanently to the video as mentioned above.

    Baldrick mentions that:

<<<In Virtualdubmod open your video. (If a message popups that VBR audio stream detected just select NO)
Add the TextSub filter under Video->Filters.
Open the srt, sub(text), smi, ssa subtitle.
(If you have an idx/sub/ifo subtitle add the VobSub filter intead.)>>>

My question is, how do I get an idx/sub/ifo subtitle out of my VOB files and then use that stream to add permanently to my MPEG2/VOB?

    Thanks,
    Wasim.

You can use vsrip to rip out subs from a dvd.

Or use autogk or handbrake and convert from the dvd to avi or mp4 or mkv with burned in subtitles.

  3. Thank you, I will try that. I have another question about joining subtitles. I will post it under a separate heading.
