I have a number of otherwise good commercial DVDs that have inappropriate scenes for children or mixed company.

I would like to copy the DVDs to a computer and edit out a few very short scenes. Not looking to do anything fancy. Simple as possible.

I would then like to burn the edited version back to DVD.

Id like the edited version to look as good as the original.

Could someone please tell if this can be done? How to do it, and what software Id need.

rip it to the hd with dvdfab decrypter.
use vobblanker to remove the parts, https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?p=1554998&highlight=vobblanker#1554998 .
burn the video_ts folder using example imgburn.

    Mr. Baldrick

I was able to rip the DVD with dvdfab decrypter.
I was able to edit with vobblanker.
I now have a directory with my edited version.
That directory contains about 11 files
These are .bup .ifo and .vob files
imgburn does not recoginize them and will not burn them to DVD.
Im not sure what to do at this point.
Could you please direct me on how to burn these back to a DVD?

the fastest and hassel free way to do what you want to do is.... when the 'inappropiate'
scenes are about to appear, just yell "THE 3 MONKEYS!!" and everybody will know what to do.

thus saving you time having to edit and re-author the dvd.

    Hope This Helps

Another Popular way to get to your burn is to create a folder
on your HDD with the name of the DVD title.
Within this folder put your VIDEO_TS & a blank AUDIO_TS folder.

Use ImgTool Classic to create the Iso & have it auto-burn with Imgburn.

Make sure your folder full of files in called Video_TS, or Imgburn wont see it as a DVD Video folder.

Off the HDD - doesn't have to be. Imgburn will take care of it.

  11. I stopped updating the program when they went to mandatory online crapp, and also never bought any new verisons for my other systems so they lost losts of sales and I use other software instead!

BUT, something like Tempgnc DVD author should work well. Lots of other programs like it also.
Just rip the DVD to your hard drive with DVDshrink then open the DVD author program. Add DVD files for the video. Go into edit, find the section you want to cut, set start point and the end point, select cut between points. Whoopy, ofensive stuff gone, no more boobies or butts, find next area you want to cut and that's gone too. When done author the DVD, burn the files created. You may want to watch them on the PC before burning to make sure you like it.

This does just import the movie only and you lose the menus, but who cares. If you want you can create your own. Also you can open more than one file, so you could put extras or other stuff on the DVD too still if you want.
