Dear all,
Hopefully you are able to help me out on this. I just bought the Home Cinema system of Philips. It supports Divx and subtitles.
The thing is, I have a movie (AVI) and I downloaded the Subs (SRT). On the disc I burnt it, two files work perftecly on the PC and I can read the subs of the movie. If I want to watch the movie through my Philips machine, I am not able to watch the movie with subtitles. Whenever I press the <Subtitle> button, it has a <no go> icon, so it does not work.
AVI name and SRT name are exactly the same and no fancy characters in the names. Is there anything I can do? I have the latest firmware, which is V26. Can anyone help me out, thank you!

Firstly, have u tested the subtitles on your PC? Do they actually work. There have been a number of occasions when downloaded subs don't actually work.
Also have you tried a different extension for your subs, eg .sub There are a number of programs available (trial or freeware) that allow you to do this. Try it.
And finally have you spoken to philips about it ?
What do you think of the quality of this system ? sound and hd display etc.
