hi,
I am using one of these to convert the output VGA signal from my xbox 360 to composite, so i can view on my HD screen and record via capture card at the same time.
When i plug into my capture card, the image is very blurry - But when i plug it into my TV the picture is crystal clear!
Any ideas why?
If i run it through a VCR with composite input and composite output will that make it like the TV picture?
Thanks

Just tried it via S-Video and it looks a bit better, but its in black and white!

The fact you lose the color with the s-video cable tells me your capture card might be set to NTSC instead of PAL. Did you check all your input settings?

S-Video is working in color now - But still as bad and blurry as Composite!
Any ideas? It looks perfect on the TV! -

If i connect the composite lead direct from the 360 to the capture card, it works great! But since putting it from this box to the capture device it goes all blurry. It cant be much, cos it looks awesome if i plug it into the TV, so i not sure whats wrong :S -

Video conversion box is this.
Setup 1:
The above is a basic setup that allows you to record straight from the xbox via composite SD (480i).
Video quality capturing this way here
Now i do not want to capture that way, as i want to be able to play at 1280 x 1024 (720p) on my TFT monitor and capture at the same time. So i bought one of these.
Now my setup becomes this:
The above setup is what i am aiming for, but i want video quality of the recording to be good. The quality i am getting at the moment is this.
As you can see, thats very blurry and not very focused.
However, if i plug the composite output from the box to the TV i get almost the same quality as direct from the 360 via SD composite leads. (This setup here.)
Any ideas?
Could it be the box? Any suggestions on a box to get that will be much better quality on the capture side?
Thanks -
I would say that the converter box is at fault. I would return it if you still have that option

When i tried connecting my aerial to the tuner on the card, i pushed it in a little hard, and it dislodged the card, causing the PC to reboot.
Upon rebooting, it hadn't detected the card so i re-installed the software, skipping the option to overwrite 2 .dll's with older files.
Uninstalled and reinstalled last night, and it all works like gravy
NICE ONE!
