    Hi there everyone!

First of all, I'd like to say thanks everyone for making such a wonderful website (not just the site, but the forum that all the members contribute to) with such a wealth of information. Very helpful, and your efforts are appreciated!

That being said, I'm having a little bit of trouble with my DVD player and burning movies here. I apologize if this has been asked & answered before but it's a little hard to phrase this to plug in to a search.

The problem is that (using the newest version of Nero) when I burn a DVD from AVI (it converts it, usually takes overnight) the DVD plays without a problem on my (albeit old) DVD player, but when I burn from VIDEO_TS folder or image, it never plays. The DVD player says "NO PLAY" whenever a disc like this is inserted. And it's not even like I'm just dragging the VIDEO_TS directory on to the disc -- I'm using Nero's wizard to do the job!

Can anyone give me a hint as to why this is occuring and how I could fix it? I suppose I can just start converting VIDEO_TS files to avi and then convert back to the DVD using Nero, but that seems like a lot of trouble and would take quite a while.

    Thanks for the help guys!

    Justin

The method I use, is to create a folder and have the VIDEO_TS and a blank AUDIO_TS
    within it.
Then I use ImageTool Classic to create the image and have ImgBurn burn it.
IMHO this is the most "fool-proof" method. (assuming the vid is good)

When it comes to DVD vids...I usually steer clear of Nero. IMHO

It would also depend on what format in Nero you are using to burn with. In Nero Burning ROM, you use the 'DVD-Video' format and put the contents of your VIDEO_TS folder into Nero's VIDEO_TS folder and burn. If you use other formats like DVD-ROM (ISO), it's not likely to work with most DVD players.

And I would use a different program than Nero to convert AVI type files to DVD. It doesn't do that very well, though it's fine as a burner.

A better program to try might be ConvertXToDVD.

    And welcome to our forums.
