First, my apologies if this has been answered. I searched the forums but could not find the answer. It's probably in several threads but I don't know how to word it properly.

Anyway, I need to know how to I figure out what the video bitrate of an AVI file is. When I right click a file that I encoded (sample below) and select "Properties," it says the video bitrate is 218 kbps, but on other files that I have which were ripped by others, the bitrate listed on the NFO file is substantially higher than what I get from clicking properties. Someone told me that it has to do with the differences in measuring data and video (I don't know!), but whatever the reason, can someone teach me how to convert the number I get from right clicking the file to get the "correct" bitrate. Did I ask that clearly enough?

    Many thanks for any help!

Try Gspot 2.60 for one. It tells you that and more. Some others like MediaInfo are listed here: https://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=38#38

  4. Windows is reporting KBytes per second, not KBits per second. Multiply by 8.
