AVID XPress Pro 4.8.4
Using on a Mac OS 10.4.8
Deck: Sony HDV 1080i (Mini-DV Tape) hooked up via FireWire.

So I've logged all of my clips (with TC activiated) I have about 50 clips. Avid will Batch Capture just fine (with a few brain farts here and there, not finding pre-roll point) but it always works. Sometimes I run out of time and cannot batch capture all of my clips.

When I close Avid and start it the next day or so, I select my uncaptured clips and select Bin / Batch Capture, tell Avid the tape is mounted, then I get the most irritating message ever.

"Halted on clip
Exception: A drop frame tape was inserted.
A non-drop frame tape was expected.
Please insert the correct non-drop frame tape.

THIS IS THE SAME TAPE I USED YESTERDAY. Only difference; I closed Avid and re-started it. Or loaded a different Project and then came back to that project.

I always have to Add a New Tape and re-direct the clips to the new tape.

As powerful as Avid may be, it sure hates FireWire and Batch Capture. I connect the Sony BetaSP with a serial cable and I've never seen Avid capture so fast and flawless. But not firewire.

HELP!!!!
