I'm in the middle of putting together a skateboarding video for a buddy of mine, and its coming along great except that when i render it in vegas as an MPEG2 then throw it on a DVD using DVD Architect, when i view it on the TV there is a lot of video cropped off the bottom and sides.
Also, when i play the mpeg2 on the computer, everything is fine.
so look at these two pictures to see what i mean:
the first one is how it looks on the computer (how it should look)
and the second one is how it looks on TV (bad)
I render it in vegas using these settings:
how come i'm losing so much video on the sides and top/bottom?
should i be changing something somewhere?
thanks for any help![]()

When you are working in Vegas, turn on Overlays - little button above the preview window. Two dotted boxes will appear. The outer box is called the Action Safe area. Most things inside this will be visible on most TVs. The inner box is called the Title Safe Area (or Menu Safe, in authoring tools). Anything inside this should be visible on all TVs. All your credits and titles must be inside the Title Safe Area to guarantee seeing them when playing back on a TV.
