Hi!
I just bought a Pinnacle DC30 at very good price. Thing is that the guy "forget" tu put cables in the package! This means that I have to find a way to get the sound from capture as this d*** cable is very hard to find, not to say impossible.
So, as I don't have an "external" sound card (external by opposition to onboard) I have to capture the sound from the mic plug from my onboard sound card. And this is where it hurts a lot!
First, the input volume is so LOW! I've checked everything under XP and was not able to get better than a whisper! So I thought that it could be a good occasion to use my old receiver to amplify the volume.
So I plugged my mic into the receiver. I also plugged a CDV player to do some testing. No matter the source, mic or a CDV (ancestor of DVD), the volume is boosted but I don't have any control at all on it!
What I mean by that is no matter if I pump up the volume on the reciever, I still have the same output! It doesn't sound logical at all! It acts as if my receiver was just by passed.
If someone tryied to use a receiver to boost an audio signal, i would appreciate some feedback
Aguirre
