thanks, does that one program do everything for you, shrink and burn the dvd?

  3. No it doesn't shrink the DVD. DVD shrink will do that for you, but imgburn is highly regarded as the best image burner going now.

  5. Most folks would tell you to make your DVD the proper size to begin with and leave Shrink out of the equation. Perhaps you could explain what you're trying to do and what you have to work with (assets, avi's, mpegs, etc) I would be happy to help out a fellow Florida boy if I can.

  7. No problem! We were all new to this at one time )

I wish I could help you further, but since you can't give very much specific information maybe you should try and look at some of the guides available on this site. Maybe some of the other knowledgeable folks here could chime in.

How about... what are you trying to do?

  10. No...you have told us what kind of computer you have. The DVD burner is pretty much irrelevent.
I know you are trying to burn DVD's that's about it.

Are these DVD's commercial DVD's that you are trying to back up? Are they DVD's you have made with different movies and episodes? Have you had success in the past doing this and are trying to find a better way? If commercial DVD's, are you removing copy protection? Please be a little more specific. Give us as much information about what are doing, what your doing it with and what you hope to do.

If you're ripping and burning backups, why not stick with DVDShrink, and use DVDDecrypter for the scratched ones (better error handling)? They're pretty hard to beat. Then burn with Nero. DVDDecrypter won't shrink the size, but you can then just run DVDShrink on the files to produce a second set that will fit.

And if you encounter newer copy protection you can install FixVTS and then install RipIt4Me, which senses and uses FixVTS to correct the timing.

  13. Hello again,

Okay...when you "there are some that just won't work", are you meaning some commercial DVD's? If so, you need to try ripping it (copying) to your hard drive using one of two programs. Either ripit4me or dvdfabdecryptor. These will take care of the pesky copy protection that comes on commercial DVDs. From there you can either shrink it if too big or just burn it.
