I used Vegas to prepare my videos and I rendered all of them using the preset for DVD Architect because at the time I felt this would be my best solution. However, i am now using DVD Lab Pro. The Architect template would save MPG2 without audio. The audio stream was saved separate as AC3. QUESTION IS: Now that I am using DLP, do I need to re-render my MPG2s from Vegas WITH the audio included or will it not make any difference?

You don't need to redo anything. Any good "proper" DVD authoring program will accept elementry streams (i.e., separate video and audio files).

So you are fine as it is.

When you import the mpg file into DLP, make sure you Demultiplex to Elementary Streams (a popup window will ask you). Then drag the elementary video to the timeline, add the corresponding AC3 audio stream, and you should be good to go...

That is what you do IF you have a muxed MPEG file.

However Alain2007 has stated that he already has elementary streams.

You don't understand, he has a muxed mpg stream (with blank audio). And the AC3 stream is already separate. So when importing the mpg file, he will be asked to demultiplex...

Well he didn't make that very clear PLUS why would any program make a MPEG or MPG file without audio instead of a regular M2V or MPV file?

Well he did say he was using the preset for DVD Architect. So that template is setup to create the mpg without audio, and it expects you to also create a corresponding audio (AC3) with the same name so that DVD Architect will import both video/audio at the same time. If using the other templates when rendering in Vegas, some will create a program stream with muxed mpeg audio, other templates will create a video elementary stream (M2V). So it depends on the preset template you select when rendering out of Vegas (note: the preset templates can also be customized).

This is just another example of how retarded DVD Architect can be.
