If there is an answer to my problem on this forum please direct me to the correct place. I have only used my computer for information before but decided I would like to download photos that I could show on my t.v. so I bought an LG dvd rewriter which covers all DVD formats and I bought blank discs which it says can be used for video data photos and audio. I can burn the photos to the disc and it plays back on my computer but when I put it in my DVD player it says "Can't play this disc" I have a Samsung combined DVD and Video player. I have tried everything but can't find out what to do. The rewriter came with an installation disc which includes PowerProducer Gold PowerDVD and Nero Express. I just don't know where to start as I haven't done anything like this before. Can someone please help me.

What does your video player's manual say about viewing other than DVD-videos. Some will view photos in JPG files on CD, others on CD or DVD, some will not view jpegs at all.

You will need to produce your photos in the form your player wants.

If it will not read jpeg files you will need to author a DVD slideshow.

I don't have the manual anymore for the dvd-video player. My disc shows the photos on the computer but not on the dvd player. I think I may have to return the rewriter as I am finding it a bit too technical but I appreciate you taking the time to reply to me.

A DVD (re)writer is no more complicated than a CD burner. The issue is that there is no standard for how player read photos, mp3 files etc. Some will read anything from any any disc. Some will read from only certain discs. Some will read the first file it comes to, and from then on only that type of file from that disc (I have a Pioneer that does this). Don't discard your DVD burner because of the silliness of the player.

Many manufacturers are putting their manuals on-line nowadays. If you tell us what your player is, some-one may well be able to tell you how to burn your photos.
