    hi
    i have some subtitles in sup format . you know how can show this subtitles like srt , sub ant etc ... with avi or another formats ?

  2. Hi-

    You can't show SUP subtitles in an AVI the way you can other formats. You can convert them to IDX/SUB format. They can be used with AVI. You can also go back to the original DVD and extract the IDX/SUB files. Or you can OCR (convert to text based subtitles, such as SRT or SSA) either from the IDX/SUB files, or from the IFO of the DVD.

    SUP subtitles can be muxed into DVD using authoring apps (Muxman, IFOEdit, Rejig) that accept subtitles in that format.

    i know . you know persian language is diffrent with english . in english 26 capital letter , 10 number & some characters . but in persian 2 letter make another word , it's so difficult convert it to sub with OCR . thanks for your answer

  4. But I said they can easily converted to IDX/SUB format (or IDX/SUB can be extracted from the IFOs/VOBs using VobSub Configure). IDX/SUB are BMP or picture or image based subs, just like SUP. IDX/SUB can be played with AVI. No problem for the Farsi subtitles. You only have to have DirectVobSub installed, and the IDX/SUB subtitles will play very nicely with the AVI.
