  1. OK I have a 3pk of MEmorex DVD+R DL Disks. I used DVDDevrypter to rip a DVD9 movie, and IMG Burn to burn it to my DL Disk. The burn went perfectly. Now I have 3 DVD Players(1 4yr old one, A new Panasonic S52 which can specifically play DVD+/-R DL, and a PS2). So I took my new burn , and played it in my oldest DVD Player to ensure compatibility. I played through perfectly until about thje last 1/4 of the movie. I then started to see very tiny flashes and artifacting very intermitently. They do not happen in the same spot, for when I rewind and play a certain spot over, they do not appear but rather appear a few seconds before of after. As far as playback went there was no jumping/skipping(except for the layer break.

Now my other 2 DVD Players(new Panny and PS2) did not have this problem. Is it safe to assume that the onyl reason O got these slight artifacts in the video was because the older player was having problems reading the disk?

    Thanks
    -Zero

I would venture to guess that your guess is probably accurate.

I would scan the disk surface with DVDInfoPro to see if shows any anomalies in that general area.

    zero83,

I would also agree that your analysis of the problem is a good one. You would probably get better results, in the long run, by using Verbatim +R dual layer disks.
