Weird message in TMPGEnc 3.0 Xpress

When I try to encode my mpg files, it says "is not a supported file format" but when I try to play it, it runs fine.

Then when I try to do it again, it says "there is no quoted number of character-string '%.2f'
What does that mean?

And what kind of mpg is the source? mpeg1 or mpeg2?
