  1. I have 2 WD HD 250GB (SATA2) and 1 WD HD 120GB (IDE)

When I runing Westerndigitals Data lifeguard tool it show that my IDE drive is SATA and my SATA drives are IDE. Donīt know if the test show wrong information or if there is something wrong with my settings?

  2. Go to www.wdc.com and download the DOS version of DLG and run it. That will eliminate any chances of windows problems.

They have DOS versions that make a bootable floppy or a bootable CD. You just boot of of the dos version and run it.

I only ever used the dos version for drive testing. That eliminates any chance of software problems skewing the results. Seagate, Western DigitaL, Maxtor, Hitachi, Fujitsu etc. all have bootable floppies for testing.

    Good Luck

seeing as it is a SMART alert, it is most likely accurate. I would download the test software from the drive manufacturer and test the drive. If the software gives you an error code, you can RMA your drive before it fails completely (assuming it is under warranty).
