  1. Hello,

My old SD camera i used windv, which doesnt work with the canon hv10.

So i used ulead dvd movie factory 5 plus.

The video looks very good but the resolution of the captured file is only 1440 x 1080 and the specifications of the camera says it should be 1920 x 1080 so thats alot of detail im loosing.

Canon provides no video software at all with the camera.

What software do i need to get the full 1920 x 1080?

    Thanks,
    Eric

  2. Tape Recording: DV (normal) mode: Approx 1.55 megapixels (1440 x 1080), HD/DV (wide) mode: Approx 2.07 megapixels (1920 x 1080)

  4. It appears that your camcorder records video on MiniDV tapes using the HDV format.

The specifications for the HDV format include exactly two resolutions: 720x1280 and 1440x1080:

So I'm not sure where that 1920x1080 specification is coming from.

Why would anyone want 1440x1080 when they dont make 1440x1080 TV's? I mean what was going through the head of whoever woke up one day and thought this would be a good idea??
