  1. I can't cut AVI using VirtualDUB 1.3c !
I need to cut only 3 seconds from the beginning but it keeps save new avi with this part.

I can cut from other points but from the beginning, it simply won't work !

    Anybody have some solution ?

  2. Ok, here is a quicky solution,(someone else might have a better idea).

You're using VirtualDub 1.3c so I'm assuming that your trying to cut an ASF file. It's the Key-framing thingy that's messing you up - there aren't enough of them. You need to get more of them key-frames into the video. You do that by saving the video as another format such as MJPEG, Indeo 5.1(at 100% + set key-framing to everyframe) or the Huffman lossless codec (warning! big file size).

Once you've done that you can edit and re-render into any format you wish.

    pros: quick and dirty solution.
cons: you may experience a loss of image quality.

Stick around, however, somebody might have a better way to the same thing...

    good luck

  3. I thought about reencoding but this will deteriorate quality ...

BTW, I need to cut 2 sec. from AVI - not ASF but looks like the same problem.
