Ive got a Tokai DVX-610.

It played fine for about a year but a few months ago it gave up. It wont read any dvd, even real ones! When its trying to read the disc it makes an odd sound (like a cassette tape getting chewd up) though i cant rember if it did that in the first place as it is a relativly cheap peice of kit, I allways remember it being noisy at times.
Ive tried using a dvd cleaner, which it would not even load (cleaner dvd worked on my old dvd player though).
Would opening it up and spreading some sort of cleaning fluid on the laser help any (though i have next to no experience with electronics)?
Any suggestions appreciated!
Cheers!
