    Hey,

I'm from the UK, so I'm looking for a PAL product here.

What I'm looking for is a DVD player (preferably multiregional) that will play all kinds of avi's, (so definately xvid n divx codecs) in good quality with no problems. I bought a shinco portable dvd player before which supported divx, but it wasn't very good. The avis were often jerky and the audio was usually out of sync. I don't want to buy another player that will have these problems.

Basically I just want a DIVX/XVID supporting dvd player that will play avi's pretty much as they would be when you watch them on a PC. Nothing too flashy, I don't have an HD TV or anything like that.

I'm hoping to spend under £80, but maybe slightly more if I need to.

Can anyone recommend some good players?

    Thanks a lot

Take a look in the DVD PLAYERS section.

Just input your options and do a search.

For best compatibililty, get a Divx certified player. There is a list on the divx.com website.

I'd say that kind of problem is more a problem with the AVIs than the player. Don't expect a hardware player to be as versatile as your computer. Some AVIs are simply not created with standalone playback in mind, and may have to be fixed/reencoded to work OK regardless of player.

    cool, thanks guys

how does this one look to you?

It apparently works with hdds which would be great for my 400gb external one

    Can anyone recommend this?
