i took last years holidays i had on my movie camera and put the 3 files on to my hard drive. I want to burn these onto a blank dvd, but wondered whether i could put all 3 on to one disc and play it as one disc in my player. the files are big enough to get all 3 avi on to a dvd, but have tried just burning them with nero 7 and doesnt play in the dvd player, my mate reckoned i could just put these avi on to one disc without converting to dvd, where i will only be able to get one.
    Anyones help would be appreciated.

    Depends on your player.
    1) Does it play AVI at all?
    2) If yes, does it play tha AVI "flavor" you have?
    3) If yes, can it understand the concept of a data DVD? (Some players think all DVD should be video DVD, and rejects them if not)

i have 2 dvd players in the house.... both wont play the avi files on there, ive tried it with different discs on both.... ive used nero and made data dvd rather than data cd. i was trying to get these avi's onto disc as its a pain having to wait 2 and a half hours using nero to convert to dvd and burn. as i said my mate said that he could fit 2 or 3 avi files on one disc, but i havent been successful yet. maybe nero's not the one to use.... i heard somebody mention alcohol 120

Even Nero should get a data DVD right.
    Again:
    1) Does your player play AVI at all?
    2) If yes, does it play tha AVI "flavor" you have? (Most do DivX/XviD only) Drop an AVI in GSpot and post a screen shot.
    3) If yes, can it understand the concept of a data DVD? (Some players think all DVD should be video DVD, and rejects them if not) Try burnng the AVI to a data CD and see if it plays.

  5. Most DVD players do NOT play AVI files. Those that do usually have a Divx of MPEG 4 logo on the front. If you don't know whether or not your player supports Divx/MPEG4 it almost certainly doesn't -- it's the type of thing that you would only get if you were searching for it. You'll probably have to convert to MPEG 2 and master a movie DVD.

Depends - these days, it seems pretty hard to come by a DVD player that doesn't do DivX too - at least if you stick to the lesser/cheaper "brands". May be different in different markets tho.
