  1. hey guys im gettin a error read evrtyime i try to make an iso copy from the DL media that i burned using dvd decryptor or dvdfab platinum. the error reads seems to happen around the %48 -%50 process completion. so my guess is that it has a hard time readin when it starts to go to the 2nd layer. i wonder why that is. i just make complete isos using either of the two programs that i have here. is there a step that im missing so that this problem doesnt occur again?

It could be that either your media is bad (why didn't you tell us what brand your disc was?) or there was something wrong with the burn. You really should know better since you aren't a newbie, but when asking this type of question, ALWAYS tell the brand of your media and in the case of DVD DL, tell us if you used +R DL or -R DL. It can make a difference. -R DL is a kludge to get it to work and you have to set a specific layer break manually when burning or it won't work. If you didn't know to do that, then that's probably your real problem.

  3. i used ritek -R DL. i dont believe my media is bad sense i dont have a problem what so ever when i used them for burnin my ps2 games and xbox games as well. so for the most part im pretty sure that the media is pretty good. also somebody in here told me that i could just use dvd decrypter for iso reading and iso burning and i didnt think that was the wrong method of burning a dl media sense when i played them on my stand alone dvd player they all play fine with no problems. i didnt think i would need to put a layer break manually sense i thought i was makiing a true 1:1 copy anyway. maybe i need to buy +R DL media instead. if the problem lies in the layer break can u tell me how to do that if u can.

Are you using the latest firmware for your drive? It's very important to be sure that you are.

It IS possible that your burner's laser has failed or can't produce enough power to do the second layer. Seems to happen a lot on LGs, including mine. I'd certainly try Verbatim +R DL (Verbatim makes a -R DL now, by the way) which can rule out (or not) that the drive is bad, but don't burn more than one disc; if the failure still occurs at the same spot on a +R DL, you can be fairly sure it's the drive that's done.

Use IMGBURN instead of DVD DECRYPTER to burn DUAL LAYER MEDIA. Use VERBATIM DUAL LAYER MEDIA because anything made by RITEK/RIDATA is all crappola media. Hopefully in time your playstaion and xbox games will be readable. But chances are the dye will deteriorate over time then the discs will become readable. Use good quality dvd media and RITEK isn't one of them. You pay for what you get!

  6. well i have a lite on DL burner, which so far is superb. i have burned 4 -R DL ritek media discs thinkin i would have no errors if i made a copy from these media discs. it turns out though that i was wrong. im gonna update my firmware on my burner. as far as buyin +R DL thatis gonna have to wait for a while. cause i still have like 20 something discs left..haha.

    http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=guides

Not that hard to understand. Instead of using the file mode in DVD DECRYPTER you could just use ISO read. Then open up IMGBURN and just put in the disc and select image to burn then click on WRITE.

  9. so what is the reason as to why i cant burn that same iso using dvd decrypter, which is the same software i used to create it. is it because imgburn does a better job at puttin the layer break? also some of the new dvds have newer protection technology so i use dvdfab to get around that.

IMGBURN does a better job at burning DUAL LAYER MEDIA. IMGBURN is made by the same person who created DVD DECRYPTER. Take a look at the IMGBURN website I posted.
