Apologies if this is dealt with elswhere, but due to the characters used in the search I keep getting nothing back (my searching probably).

When I record from Sky+ (via Copy) to my Philips DVDR3365 I've notice that the recording is made in 4:3 and not 16:9 widescreen (how it's taken me so long to notice I'll never know!). At first I thought it was setup, so I checked all of this, then I thought perhaps the particular program wasn't WS but I've checked this too.

Sky+ is set to 16:9 on both scarts (although I use only 1) and the DVDR is set to 16:9 to0o. In pasthrough mode (dvdr off) and on TV mode (dvdr on) the picture through from Sky is fine and in the correct ratio, so it seems to be only when recording.

Anyone seen anything similar and how can I stop this happening?

I found a little app IfoAR2WS.exe which will re-set the widescreen bit AFTER DVDshrinking to PC...but that means re-authoring everything instead of just recording it.

    Any help gratefully received.

It shouldn't mean re-authoring, just re-burning after the changes have been made. IFOEdit can also change the AR flags in the ifo files without the need to re-author.

Yeah, but it still means copying form Sky then copying to PC and then copying back off PC...intsead of just having the widescreen bit set correctly?
