    TMPGE 2.2.1 is not allowing me to open some .avi files on my laptop with OS Windows XP. I have no problems on my desktop with using TMPGE 2.2.1 to encode the very same files on my desktop with Win 98. does anyone know anything about this?

    Maybe try using an earlier version of TMPG seems to work for majority of their errors. hehe.
