Hi - I'm new....be gentle with me please as I'm not much of a techie!!!

I've searched and found procedures for the above such as....

Load disc, wait for regional error code, on remote control press Memory, then 1, then play...then forward button to watch disc. Nothing happens though!

When I load I get the message "Disc playback unauthorized. See user manual" or words to that effect. Is this the regional error code??? It's that and only that which stays on screen from start to finish.

Also found one that said, whilst loading contiuously press STOP on handset, then Memory, 1, Play......but still nothing's happening.

Can anyone help and/or advise me please?

    Many thanks.............Celine

Put DVD into player - wait for regional code violation screen to appear

Once this has occurred press the M (Memory) button on your remote

Press 1 for Title 1 and Play on the remote - this will over-ride the regional code violation detection menu

You can watch the movie by pressing Fwd on remote and change chapters by using the T (Title/Chapter) button on the remote)

Or check the hacks section on this website.

Steve, thanks for the reply but that's one of the processes I've been doing and still, nothing happens.

When I press Memory, should the screen change or something. From the time I load the disc to the end of the process, all I get is a black screen that says "Disc playback unauthorized, see user manual for instructions".

    Any other ideas/advice???

Do/did you have the same model and did it work for you?

    Many thanks....Celine

No, never had a Toshiba. I found the hack on Google, have you tried the one in the hacks section?

Yeah....I've been looking all day everywhere and getting more and more confused, especially as with some links it's difficult to tell how old they are!

I've found sites that say they can do the job for with if I buy an internal tool which means taking the cover off the player and putting some chip in and taking it out again. Another that says (I think) that its a cd they send me to play on the dvd player.

Most have said play the disc, await region code error, then Memory, 1, play but nothing happens. I'm wondering if it worked for other people because maybe they've got a younger model of mine and it had a chip in it or the handset that responds to Memory 1 play thing ....and maybe mine hasn't so doesn't.

Totally confused now!!! Think I'm overlinked and overchipped!!!

But I'll keep searching and asking anyway!!........Regards.... Celine

Just had a reply to an email I sent to a guy at one of the other hacking/selling tools to hack sites.

He says as far as he knows the Toshiba SD210E doesn't have a hack code! Don't know if any owner of this model has actually had any success with "load disc, await warning, press memory, 1 then play" process but I haven't.

Instead I've just run the R1 discs through 2 PC programmes and burnt them onto DVD+/-R's and they're playing perfectly well in my Toshiba and my combi Bush TV/DVD player. So, happy to give up the search for now!.....Regards.... Celine
