I have two flatbed scanners. One is a HP Model 5300 hi resolution and the other is a Epson Perfection 3490 Photo Scanner. Bothe work great. There is one thing I have not been able to figure out. It seems simple so my head must be wood!

    I scan the cover of a DVD movie which is a size of 10 & 6/8 inches by 7 & 3/16 inches.

No matter what I do I cannot get my HP Business Inkjet 1200 printer to print out to this size. The largest I get is a size of 10 & 1/2 inches by 7 inches.

To print out the covers I have used Microsoft Office Picture Manager SP2 2003 and Microsoft Office Photo Draw 2000 version 2.

    Thank you for reading this.

  2. The issue may be is at the printer/printer driver, that insist on a printing margin.

    Try use legal size = 8 1/2" by 14".

Most of those programs, including windows printing wizard etc, don't allow you to print an exact size. They allow a choice of between a dozen or so templates and thats it. You need a sophisticated program like Photoshop to input an exact size, or open the picture in a dvd template such as the one Nero.

  4. cyflyer: I wouldn't be surprised that the freeware image program Irfanview could be used for such a task. It is a very useful program that can accomplish quite a few tasks.

    1. Use Premium Glossy photo paper for the insert. The HP should print photo quality, and
    borderless with this stock.

    2. Set the quality to premium glossy paper.

    3. While I wouldn't recommend it, you can use borderless printing (if available).

    4. See if print setup will allow you to change the margins. See if the print manager will
allow margins of top 0.6 bottom 0.6 left 0.6 right 0.7 on a landscape format.

For printing case inserts, I've gone to SureThing: It's much easier to work with using an Epson R300. I'd tried other programs, including freeware; but they were less forgiving.
