    For anyone interested

The Office Depot ad for this week has the LiteOn 5005 on sale for $79.99. Unit has all-write, +/- R/RW.

This Lite On sure looks like the ILO DVDR04.

I have a Lite-On 5005, and it sure looks different:

Could this be an older version of the LVW 5005? BTW, I have had both machines. They are both good, not really workhorses, yet they produce great quality DVD's from firewire and for VHS transfer.

  3. It's a Liteon LVW-5005X which is same as Ilo DVDR04. It's not the LVW-5005.

Apparently this sale is local and does not apply to Office Depot stores in New England.

Can anyone compare the LVW-5005X to the Insignia NS-DVDR1? Does the LVW-5005X have 3 hour mode at 1/2 D1?

  6. It doesn't have LP (3hr) mode but this hack works to activate it. It will not disable macrovision on 5005X.
