If I would have been paid for #4 I'd be a zillionaire!![]()

I've rarely worked with anyone who takes pride in what they do.
Most of them have been lazy slobs.![]()
Note.... In the poll, "Commission" could also be "piece-work".

I have only been paid hourly my whole life and I haven't had any problems so far, so I'm sticking to it.

I've always had a fixed salary, combined with payment for overtime. When I transferred from bluecollar to whitecollar I got flex time as well. I kind of like the system - you have flexibility, everybody is supposed to spend the same amount of hours at work and if you need to work more it pays off. If / when you need to do a lot of overtime it sends a signal to your boss that you either have too much to do or you are not efficient enough.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move. -

But... The end of the month quotas usually result in the wrong kind of overtime!
That means...

OK, you got a point, but in a case of ordered overtime as in your example all individuals do roughly the same amount of extra work. What I meant is the case where some people continuously do more time than they should.

It's a no win situation!
I like hourly or time and material. People that know you and your work are the best canidates to pay this rate. The problem is that most peolpe don't know the going rate or opt for the cut throat competiors because of their budget.
Peice work is tricky. With volume it is good, but again there are the cut throats and I never seem to get any of the true gravey (there are always lumps in it)
Straight salary looks good for 40 hours, but who on salary works less than 60 hours?
Contract for the job is the same as peice work but with more room for things to go bad.
Come on PowerBall! Pay me the cash all at once!IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT? -

How would I like to be paid? It is one of my life goals to be paid with a briefcase full of money at some point (for something legal and honest, I should add!)

Hourly. But if there was an option for excessively I'd have taken it...
-
Umm commission because I like depending on myself to get the job done. I'm a organized freak and a workaholic!
