Okay, so, Ive got my fiber optic cable going out from the PS2 to the Digital input in my receiver. Well, first I must say that this same set up works perfectly w/ my DVD player. So, back to PS2, i only get stereo sound. Im sure of this because the light on my receiver that says dgital sound doesnt come on (I rather like its blue color too)Whats the deal? Isnt digital out supposed to be the best sound output? Thanks all of you fellow hacks like me!

First off the games must support surround sound, if it doesn't you'll just get normal stereo. Also you must enabled the Digital Optical output on your PS2, but since you can watch movies with surround I assume you already did that.
either than that, I'm not sure what the problem would be. -
I did make sure that Digital output (Optical) Was on and it still just gave me stereo for games and DVDs. My standalone DVD with the same setup gives me full surround sound.
