  1. I'm starting to wonder if i'm getting real DV from my ieee1394 card?
The reason is, when i opening a AVI file capured with Adobe premier 6.0 and a ieee1394 card with LSX-MPEG suit 2.0
    i get the message...
"warning input video stream has a high level of compression. for best result, use uncompressed files or files with low level of video compression
    Audio stream not availible"

the compression rate is 8:1 and compression type is DVSD according to LSX
The size of one of my test files is 335mb for a media length of 1,33 min after capure.

One other thing is when i capute via Adobe, i get no frame drops at all, but when i try to capure via Virtualdub the framedrop rate is quite high, any ideas ?

I think this forum is greate and i would be happy if you
guys could inform me on these issues.

The DV cam is a Panasonic NV-DA1 and i have the Main concept DV codec innstalled, but i'm not
sure if thats the one in use.

  3. I had Pinnacle StudioDV with IEEE1394 controler. According to the manual, the software captured and saved as AVI with compression of 5:1 (DV compression). When I view the clip using MS Play, the player reported resolution of 325x240. But when I edited the clip and saved as DV uncompress codec (AVI), I got resolution of 720x480 (from MS Player). The movie frame is larger, quality looked about the same (but I considered better since the frame enlarged).

The package works fine for me!
