    Hey, my computer is not recognizing my DVD read and write drives...I checked device manager and they do not show up in there...I also took off the cover to check to make sure the cables were tight and they are.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Try uninstalling the drives in device manager and reboot.

    If that doesn't work, try uninstalling, the drives and the IDE controller(s), then reboot.
