Can somebody recommend a dv converter. I have got a analog camera (hi 8 ) and want to backup my videos on my computer.
It must work perfectly with pinnacle studio 10 plus, must have high quality and external (usb or firewire, not pci). It would be nice if it is not to hard to use.
Is pinnacle video box a good option?
    Thanks

What about the Canopus ADVC55 or Canopus ADVC110?

    OR:

A Digital8 camcorder will let you play your existing Hi8 analog tapes and output DV.

A miniDV camcorder with 'pass-through' will let you connect the analog output of your Hi8 camcorder and provide DV output.

i.e., if you intend to get a new camcorder, you can avoid the need for a stand-alone converter.

I've got a canopus advc 100 now, but it doesn't work with pinnacle studio 10. Do you also know if the advc-55 and 110 do work with studio 10 well.
Maybe that digital 8 camcorder is nice option, but is it a high quality of video compared to other video cameras, when I'm going to record with that camcorder (I don't know much (anything) about video cameras).
    Thanks for the reactions
