    Sonic MyDVD 4.5.2

that is the software i was provided with my dvd burner.
i downloaded some movies online which are in *.avi file format.

the dvd's i use are 4.7gb, and when i use that software to burn the dvd, it doesnt fit into one dvd ?
    why is that ?

i would always have to trim the movie into half and burn the other half into a second dvd.

is there an easier way maybe i could convert the whole file into fitting a single dvd disk(4.7gb)

    tq.
    cheers

  4. MyDVD 4.5 uses LPCM audio,if you can export DVD files then use DVDShrink and ImgBurn.

As you gain experience working video you will 'probably' not use Sonic MyDVD. I have that program, supplied with hardware purchases, and I don't use it.

ConvertxtoDVD will work for you. You simply load your avi movie into it, check out the many settings and change a few if you like. View the menu preview and customize it if you like, then hit the convert button. Now that is easy.

There are many other programs but the most of them are more manual conversions. These will require you to use a bitrate calculator and setup your mpeg2 encoder so your movie will fit whatever you want it to fit. As you gain experience you will probably prefer the more manual method. For now.... use a more automatic program like that.

Check out the guides (left side - top - of this page)

    Good luck.
