I have nero 7 and I burned 30 or so svcd's and the animated menus and chapters don't work just FF. No matter what I couldn't get them to work.

Anyway, I now have VCDeasy and would like to know how to create a animated chapter menus. Is there any thing out there that I can use in conjuction?

Maybe the only one capable of motion menu creation for SVCD is TSCV software:

Detailed guide for it can be found at doom9.org in Guides section/VCD & SVCD guides/TSCV guide.

  3. Whatever reasons you have for STILL burning svcd it will be inevitably better and easier to change files to 1/2D1 (356x576), rather than 480x 576, resolution as these can then be used as valid files in any DVD authoring program. SVCD menus cannot have most of the features of full DVD menu's. Maybe you dont have a DVD player tho? hard to believe as they are being given away with full james bond box sets. or maybe no DVD burner. Burners and players cost about the same as one months internet access?

The best quality way to do animated menus in VCD or SVCD (if your stuck with going that route) is to create the video clip in a regular NLE (AVID, Vegas, Premiere, AE, Ulead, etc.) using the Menu Still as background and doing whatever you'd like (3D moves, warping/morphing, simple slideons, video thumbnails, etc) with it and rendering to a finished file (to later be converted to MPEG for authoring w/VCDEasy).
Now, there are consumer-friendly shortcuts, like apps that do motion menus for DVD. If one of those will output a 1/2D1 pre-rendered MPEG2 file, you could take the .m2v portion directly into VCDEasy for use as a CVD (it may complain though). If you go from this route, you will have to SRC the audio from 48kHz to 44.1kHz and reencode to .mp2.

Well, I am on the road alot and my laptop doesn't have a DVD burner. However, after you mentioned it. I just started wondering what I was doing with messing with a dinasour. STUPID. Anyway, I am heading out and picking up an external DVD burner. I guess that would solve the problem quickly.
