See here for the replacement AVG free 7.5.: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5

They just upgraded the program, so you need the new version after January, 2007. It's still free.

I like the new version even more than 7.1. You don't have to uninstall 7.1, you can use 'repair' when you install it and it will convert 7.1 to 7.5, so it's quick to update.

Some of the features are stripped, so it's not 100% free. But the free part is probably still good enough. I'm waiting until January to change over.

  5. I've had the new one for a few weeks. So far I see no difference in features from the older free version. Maybe I didn't look hard enough. Regardless, updates are quicker now with the smaller definitions instead of full packages each time.

I don't see the free version on that link. There is Pro for $29.95. Where is the free edition?

Sorry, that was the Doc page. This one is the program. They don't make it that easy to find, as they would prefer you purchase their full version. http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5

I also changed the link in my other post.
