Trouble with playback on sony dvp-s300

I was wondering if anyone had any insight to this. I have a nec nd-3500a writer in which I used memorex dvd+r . I have had very good success with these discs. I burn with nero recode. I have burnt over 300 discs without any playback problems with my player. I am now encountering the problem where when I start playing it goes to 12 or 13 sec and distort and starts to playback from 0:00 time and get to 12sec and starts again. After a few times of this I get an error saying cannot play disc. Any help would be great. Thanx All.

I would try some different media first. It may just be a bad batch or bad ones in a batch. And have you tried to play the burned discs in other players? That should tell you if the player is at fault. Or if your older discs play and it's just the newer ones, that points to the media or the burner. But the media is easier to change.

the only other player I have is my dvd rom and it works fine.

I agree, these issues are usually media related.

Also, unless you are checking the media codes from each new spindle, you could be using multiple brands/types of discs.
