  1. Hey all..

A friend of mine lent me a video camera for some stuff... I didnt realize I had to finalize the dvd before I could view it on my computer... is there a way to finalize it without the camera? It would just be a hassle to go get it and all that.. but if I have to I will!!

    Thanks

I haven't tried this myself yet, but someone said that if you rip the data to the harddrive (use RipIt4Me), and then run FixVTS, that should make a nonfinalized disk DVD Compliant.

This idea was for a DVD recorder, but if the dvdr from the camera is the same, it should work too. I have a few DVD+R and +RW to finalize from a DVD Recorder that stopped working (although it never quite worked right from the beginning) so I'm going to try it this weekend. I'll try to remember to report my results.

    Try imgburn, Tools>Drive>Close track/session/disk.

  5. Just an update... I tried using DVD Decrypter, Nero and a couple programs to finalize it. It didnt work... it actually f'd up the disc and I had to use ISOBuster to rip the data from the disc...

    so dont try those methods!

How was that actually possible to use iso buster? The signature on the disc is for a format on that cam until you finalize it to be encoded and re signatured to play on stanalone dvd formats. I;m not saying you didn't do it.....It just made me currious so I have got to try this out!
Man do I ever enjoy doing what I do best!
