  1. Hi. I have an ATI Radeon 8500DV and, among other software, MMC 7.5. I can record TV to hard disk and I'm really enjoying this feature. The digital VCR works great.

I've also been able to burn VCD's and the video quality is barely ok.

So, since I also have a HP DVD100i DVD+RW drive and 300GB disk space, what I'd like to do is record DVD quality and then use Nero or ULead MovieFactory to burn the DVD.

Problem: MMC 7.5 records at 44,100 audio and ULead says this is unacceptable (I get up to the "burn to DVD" step and it comes back with "the audio sample rate is not supported by DVD&quot. Other things I've read say it needs to be 48KHZ. But I can't see how to make this change (BTW, I have an Audigy Platinum Sound Card).

Ideally I'd like this to work (MMC 7.5 to DVD format to DVD+RW with ULead) with what I have. The whole re-encoding, virtualDub, TMPGEnc, etc. seems like too much of a hassle for trying to spool some Simpsons and Buffy to DVD.

    Many thanks!

  2. One option is to capture within MovieFactory using the DVD template.

  3. But the problem I have with any other program is I can't seem to control the Channel of the ATI Rage. MovieFactory is unique in that it has a channel setting, but I get nothing but snow.

And I also don't have any kind of scheduling with MovieFactory

  4. I guess one thing that would solve my problems is if I could somehow hack MMC 7.5 to sample sound at 48HHZ instead of 44.1; I got the registry hack tool here - maybe it'll solve my problems well enough by improving the VCD quality - but it doesn't appear to be able to tweak the sound sampling setting. Anybody know if that's possible?

Although it relates to minidvd there is some good advise on moving audio fron 44 to 48.
