let me start that im the newbiest of the newbies when it comes to videos, so a lot of what i have tried i havent done A LOT of research and are pretty much just shots in the dark.

so, i have my dv files i got from my sony cam and the size is too big for the web. im looking for as little quality loss as possible. 1mb = for 15ish seconds (at the 720x480 size) is what im aiming for. ive tried encoding with vdub to xvid, divx and mpeg3 i believe. i also tried with wme. i tried to use tmpgenc to mpeg 2 but it kept asking me to register the codec? i wasnt too impressed with the quality. what 1 step easy conversion codecs or programs can i use to encode to my desired filesize? id prefer to keep it a avi/mpg/wmv file. this wont be streamed, but will be downloaded off my webpage. i have vegas 4.0 and may have access to an older version or premeire. any help? thx!

You might be setting your sites too high - why must it be 720x480 if your publishing this for the web? You can get smaller file sizes if you drop down to 640x480 or 320x240 and still have full screen output.

Have you tried windows movie maker? You can set the file size to what you want pretty easily - though it will lower the resolution once you go past a certain limit.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?
