hi there, i am a fairly new user to svcd2dvd and use it mainly to convert xvid to dvd files although sometimes it does vcd or svcd to dvd.

i used to use a combination of TMPGenc to convert the avi to a dvd compliant mpg and then TMPGenc DVD author to create the dvd files from this and sometimes i would use apollo divx to dvd, both these routes worked well however i think your program is superb (apart from the glich when it stops working if you havn't used it for a while and then i need to re-register it using another of my license lifes!)

anyway enough of the moaning this is really a request either for a program mod or help in how to do it if it is already there (i said i was a new user)

in TMPGenc you could go through all the setup procedure then save a template and do a batch encode on a number of different titles, can you do this on svcd2dvd, i.e. i have 5 xvid files and i want to master each one into a different dvd and save the resulting dvd files on the hdd for burning later?

please help as i use the proggy a lot for converting downloaded material and this in addition to the rarslave and rarslave gui would go a long way to making the conversions a breeze.

I asked about batch support a long while back. My purpose was to specify one OTA recorded transport stream file, a background image for the menu and let it build the DVD image files. Then from my media browser, I could add a "build DVD image" button, which would create the background image and start SVCD2DVD with parameters that specified the transport stream source and the menu image source. The only thing "extra" that I do by hand is name the action button "1", and drag it to a more central location, so it can be seen on the DVD. But I like the idea of defining a template to specify.

There's a program that's called "AutoIt" which allows automation of graphical user interface programs. I've used it for simple things, but I'm not sure about how well it would work with the dragging and dropping required. The way I usually use it (not tried it with SVCD2DVD) is to poke around to discover how to do things with only the keyboard (no mouse use). Then code that into AutoIt (it doesn't have a recorder, but it's scripting language is pretty decent).
