Using .9x (not the second release with the Windows fix).
I convert from AVI to H264 using the new 640x480 for iPod setting. I do not resize the video; I leave a file smaller than 640x480 at its original size (640x352 in the case of the file described below but 576x288 would be another example left at its original size).
If I drop the resulting file back onto ffmpegX, "From" is identified as "Unrecognized", "Video" is "h264, 640x352)", and "Audio says "No Audio". Yet the file plays well and (except for one out of ten files I converted overnight) drops into the iPod fine.
I'll try converting that one "bad" file again and see if I may have clicked the wrong checkbox erroneously.
