  1. First, I have tried searching the site, but using the characters ".PVR" as the search phrase returns all the entries dealing with "PVR", it cannot include the "dot" as part of the search phrase.

Right, I have a Wintal PVRX2 PVR which saves it's recorded programs to it's hard disk as ".PVR" format files. no worries transferring these to one of my PCs, but then I run into a brick wall. What do I use to convert these ".pvr" files to a suitable format for writing to DVD so I can then watch them on a standard free standing DVD player ?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks from Australia

This is for the older X10 PVR, so I don't know how applicable it might be, but I haven't seen anything for the newer models

Thanks for your reply Gunslinger, I don't think that process will work for me. The PVRX2 has a very good USB transfer system that copies a standard 1 hour TV program file to my PC in about 2 minutes. The resulting files have an extension of ".pvr". I don't know what format they are, there's absolutely nothing in the manual on this subject (as one might expect). There is a Player programme to watch the video file on the PC, but the topic of getting these files to DVD is completely ignored.

It is probably worth opening the files in ProjectX to see if it can read them. If so, you are well on your way.
