I have been editing TV shows to MPEG-2 to build to DVD for play on a standalone player.
The output files are about 500mb. I want to be able to put about 6 or so episodes on each DVD. But with menus and everything, the best thing I guessed would be to burn them to dual layer 9GB (8.5GB), which will give me the disc space that I need.
My DVD +/- R/RW unit can handle DVD9s. No problem.
But I was wondering if anyone knew of any DVD authoring programs that have trouble with DVD9s. Specifically, I'm looking at DVD Lab Pro or Edit Studio 5.0. I want to make sure that I get an authoring program that can use DVD9.
Any ideas????
Thanks!

6 episodes of 500mb each is 3 GB. Unless you make some very fancy motion menus, you could put 8 episodes on a single layer disc and still have room for menus galore.
DLP handles dual layer, as does DVD Workshop and a number of others. But there is more to it than just the authoring. You should also look at PGCEdit and Imgburn2, and only use Verbatim DL discs.Read my blog here.
