I hope all the HD geniuses can elaborate on this situation. I have a digital dvr moxi box that acts as a HD receiver through my cable company. The tv that I have does not mention any HD capabilites. It is a sony KV-32FV27. It has the component connection (RGB) connections. My receiver is connected to my tv by those connections. I tuned to the HD channels offered and able to view them. Initially the screen is stretch out but I have a feature 16:9 enhanced and turn it on. The picture goes widescreen and the programming is outstanding, better than the other channels even digtial. There are HDTV setting on the box that when i change to anything other than 480i my screen goes distored. Is my tv displaying the true HD programming correctly, or is there something more to this. Thanx all.

The cable box will "re-sample" the HDTV channels to 480i and since they are so ultra clear and sharp to begin with ... the end result ... eventhough it is 480i ... is better than a standard analog/cable channel that starts out as 480i.

Just imagine if your TV was capable of HDTV resolutions how great the image would be!
