  1. I've been using DivX to DVD converter to create DVD movies from XviD files. This gives me what I need and I'm happy with the results. I now have a 2 part DivX and 2 .srt files. I just need a simple program to combine either AVI 1 and SRT1 to create an AVI with hardcoded subs, or combine both parts plus both subs into an AVI file. Any help would be appreciated.

Avi2DVD is a free all-in-one solution that supports subtitles.

do you want a a dvd with subs? then you can use avi2dvd or convertxtodvd.

if you want an avi with permanent subtitles use virtualdubmod, visit the subtitle forum for a guide.

I have done this by appending in virtualdubmod to get a single avi file (without sync issues, I might add), and then using subtitle workshop to join the subs. Load the first set, then use Tools, Join Subs to load the second set. Highlight the entire second set, then use Edit->Timings->Delay to delay the full set by the length of the first avi file.
