Start by using g-spot 2.52beta on the VOBs to see exactly what is in them (audio and video). Some software will create VOBs that are not strictly DVD compliant, and some software will only handle compliant video. G-spot will let you see if you have compliant material. See What is DVD (top left corner of this site) for ocmparison.
You don't say how you made these VOBs or where they came from, however mpeg2 or VOBs on their own are no guarantee of compliance.Read my blog here.

The VOBs came from a VHS transfere i belive which then made it to me in DVD format. But there was someting wrong with the DVD i got, the VOB files where played in the wrong order for some reason, VTS_01_1.VOB is the first and VTS_01_3.VOB is the last in order but still they where played in the wrong order so thats why i needed to reauth the DVD.
I'll checkout this g-spot and se what it tells me

...or run them thru vob2mpg?

It really sounds like you have apile of crap dressed up as VOBs. These are usually pretty reliable programs that are choking on it.
Other options to try
Demux with Rejig
If you have the whole structure (ifo and bup files as well) run it through FixVTS and they try again
Personally, I think you are starting to push s*&t up hill.Read my blog here.

You can fixed the VOB file sequence with vobedit. the guide is here : https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=120021
Then you can use open the first of the fixed vob files with ifoedit, and let ifoedit generates the ifo files for you.
Then you can play it with PowerDVD, before you burn them to a DVDR.
