  1. I have been using Nero V6.6.1.4 with no problems. I mainly use it to make music CD, copy CD, copy DVD and a lot of Recode-2.

Now that Nero 7 Premium and Nero 7 Ultra are available, should I upgrade?

There is no much information from Nero.com to suggest if I should upgrade or not.

If version 6 does everything you need it to do, then stick with what works. I would only upgrade if there was a particular feature in version 7 that you can't do without.

  3. I feel the same way and that's why I went to Nero.com and checked. Not much information there.

Can someone who did the upgrade from V6 to V7 share your experiences.

Maybe more specfically, are there any improvements made to Recode in the new version ?

  4. Was going to start a thread, but will post here instead.

It appears there are a lot of bugs and bloat with Nero 7 from reading the forums. Since Recode is the primary application that is better, is it possible to use Nero 6.x and incorporate the Recode from Nero 7 only?

  5. I installed Nero 7 only because I read on the NERO website that the new NeroVision Express has a feature where you can add a "play first" clip to the project, i.e. a clip that is played immediately after inserting the DVD, prior to the menu screen. To my disappointment, this was a LIE, this feature HAS NOT been added to NeroVision, in fact there haven't been any significant improvements to NeroVision.

After using Nero 7 for a while, I was annoyed by the resource-eating, intrusive and buggy new features such as "Nero-Scout" as well as the - first ignored by Ahead, but finally acknowledged - problem with audio-skipping when burning audio CDs (Not sure if a patch has been officially released, I ended up installing the old Nero6 mp3pro.dll over the new one). Due to all of this crap, I ended up throwing it off my machine and went back to the last Nero 6 version, which works real well for all my purposes.

    ...just my 2 cents!
