Hello all, I was thinking about getting satellite as my cable company is getting too pricey and they claim that my tivo affects their products as time goes by. I talked to a sales rep for a local dish company and they said that they have dvr's and that they are capable of burning the programs onto dvd. I had heard that dvr's don't allow you to record onto dvd, so i had gotten a tivo to record the stuff I liked and from there i just burn it onto dvd using my Panasonic DMR-E55. Does anyone know they do allow burning onto dvd-r?

Yes, there are some models with dvd recorders built in. And I doubt the sales rep would tell you they had them if they didn't. Of course those models are the most expensive and most likely won't qualify as the "free" install hardware.
