    I have some Pioneer DVD-R 4.7GB DVS-R470SP that I tried to burn in a Sony DRX820U. I would not recognize media was in drive. Which DVD burner will recognize this media?
    I tried a search on the media list with 0 results.

    If it's blue, it might be Pioneer DVS-R47A. You should be able to find out the media code by following this guide:
    https://www.videohelp.com/dvdmediaform.php?dvdinfo=1#dvdinfo

    Then plug that into our DVD Media page under 'Search Media Code'. See what the comments are and you may find the burners it works best on.

    PVC media is one of the best discs ever made. But it was discontinued back in 2003, never made it past 4x media. Your newer burner may not have an entry for PVC media.
